  1. The Menningers were an American family of renowned psychiatrists 
  2. who founded some of the world‚Äôs leading psychiatric clinics. Charles 
  3. Frederick (1862¬≠1953) and his son Karl Augustus (1893¬≠1990) 
  4. founded The Menninger Clinic in Topeka, Kansas in 1925 to treat the 
  5. mentally ill. Later, Karl and his brother William Claire (1899¬≠1966) 
  6. founded the Menninger Foundation for Education and Research. Both 
  7. brothers were also prolific authors of scientific works.
